The Washington Redskins look to keep their winning ways afloat as they head into Cincinnati to take on the Bengals on Sunday.
The Redskins have turned things around after a slow start to the season and will look for a big statement win on the road against a Bengals team that has been very inconsistent despite having one of the toughest schedules in the NFL. Washington was weary of how Kirk Cousins would follow up last year’s breakout campaign and slapped him with a franchise tag this year and while he has been a bit rough at times he is certainly proving he is the guy behind center and they haven’t wavered once about replacing him. The Skins will need a strong day on the offensive side of the ball, particularly on the ground as this Bengals side has some very big weapons that can change the course of a game in a flash and if Washington can establish the ground game and give Cousins more time through the air I think they can keep this close and even pull off the win.

The Bengals meanwhile have stumbled to a 3-4 record through their first seven weeks and have been criticized for having a one dimensional offense as they seem to find their greatest success when feeding targets to AJ Green but they do have some either play makers including Jeremy Hill and Gio Bernard in the back field. Cincy will have to contend with Josh Norman who will likely shadow Green for most of the game on Sunday which may force them into running the ball more and that should suit them just fine as Washington has a sluggish run defense and could be exposed on the road here.
The Redskins are 5-1 ATS in their last six against a team with a losing record and 4-1 ATS in their last five overall while the Bengals are 6-1 ATS in their last seven on grass and 15-7-2 in their last 24 ATS overall. This game looks like a trap as the line favours the Redskins but overall I think the Bengals are the better team on both sides of the ball and getting them as a slight favourite at home is worth taking as Dalton should do enough to outduel Cousins and the Bengals run game is much better.
