The Green Bay Packers head south to take on the Tennessee Titans in a week 10 inter-conference showdown.
The Green Bay Packers fell to the .500 mark at 4-4 following a 31-26 defeat to the Indianapolis Colts. Aaron Rodgers completed 26 of his 43 pass attempts for 297 yards, 3 touchdowns and an interception while being sacked 3 times on the afternoon. Wide receiver Ty Montgomery led the Packers in rushing for the 2nd straight week with 7 carries for 53 yards as Green Bay continues to play without running back Eddie Lacy who continues to be sidelines with an ankle injury that probably requires surgery. Jordy Nelson caught his 7th touchdown of the season as part of a performance where he set team-highs in the game with 7 catches for 94 yards. Davante Adams hauled in 4 passes of his own for 41 yards and a touchdown, but it should probably be taken with a grain of salt as one of Adams’ receptions resulted in a 40-yard pickup. Defensively, even with Jordan Todman’s kickoff return for a touchdown, the Colts’ 24 first-half points were the most in a first half this season against the Packers. It wasn’t for a lack of trying however, as the Pack managed to pick off Colts QB Andrew Luck twice while also bringing him down a pair of times in the backfield.

The Tennessee Titans fell to 4-5 following a 43-35 shootout loss to the San Diego Chargers. Marcus Mariota completed 27 of 43 passes for 313 yards, 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Mariota also fumbled the rock on one of his rushes that the Chargers ran back 56 yards for a touchdown against the Titans. DeMarco Murray found the end zone for a 4th consecutive game, however fell well short of his 3rd straight 100-yard game, putting up just 51 yards on 14 carries. Kendall Wright led the Titans with 64 yards on a pair of receptions while Rishard Matthews continued to be one of the more underrated parts of this Titans receiving core, catching 6 passes for 63 yards and a pair of touchdowns, giving Rishard scores in 4 of his last 5 games. Defensively, Tennessee allowed San Diego to rack up a whopping 476 yards of total offense while the 43 points were the most allowed in any Titans game this season. The pressure never really seemed to get to Chargers QB Philip Rivers, who avoided throwing an interception and was only sacked once on the day. Not to mention Melvin Gordon ran through the Titans like a hot knife through butter, putting up 196 yards and a touchdown on 32 carries.
Green Bay is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 following a game where they allowed 30+ points while the under is 8-3 in their last 11 games against a team with a losing record. Tennessee is 15-34-3 ATS in their last 52 home games and 12-36-3 ATS in their last 51 games overall while the over is 6-0 in their last 6 games overall. The total has gone over in 4 of the last 5 meetings between these two teams.
I could make a case for either of these teams, as Green Bay is too good of a team to be .500 but they have no real run game identity. Tennessee has a solid ground game, but their defense just got sliced up by Melvin Gordon and the Chargers. However one thing both of these teams can do is score, which is why I’ll side with the over as I’m expecting a shootout, somewhere along the lines of 35-28.
