The Los Angeles Rams head to the Meadowlands to the on the New York Jets in an interconference battle in week 10 NFL action.
The Los Angeles Rams dropped their 4th straight game to fall to 3-5, this time a 13-10 defeat at the hands of the Carolina Panthers. Case Keenum rebounded nicely from his 4 interception game in week 8 by completing 27 of his 46 pass attempts for 296 yards and a touchdown, however Keenum did throw an interception as well, his 4th straight game with at least 1 pick. The ground game was ineffective on both sides, however it was Rams running back Todd Gurley that racked up a game-high 48 yards on 12 carries. Tight end Lance Kendricks led the Rams with 7 catches for 90 yards while Kenny Britt hauled in 4 balls of his own for 49 yards and L.A.'s lone touchdown on the day. Defensively, the Rams couldn't do much better without getting the win. L.A. held the Panthers to just 244 yards of total offense while sacking Carolina QB Cam Newton 5 times on the day. However Los Angeles couldn't force the Panthers into too many mistakes, which led to the Panthers winning the time of possession battle, resulting in longer spells on the field for the Rams defense en route to the loss.

The New York Jets look to snap a 2 game losing streak as they head into their week 11 bye week. In week 9, the Jets fell 27-23 to the Miami Dolphins to drop to 3-6 on the year. New York's quarterback woes continued as Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 17 of his 28 passes for just 193 yards and a touchdown that ended up being cancelled out by a pair of interceptions before leaving the game with a sprained MCL. Bryce Petty took over and completed both of his pass attempts for 19 yards. Matt Forte put up a team-high 92 rushing yards on his 20 carries to go along with a touchdown. Jalin Marshall logged a team-high 59 yards and a touchdown on 3 receptions however Marshall also coughed up the ball on one of his catches. Brandon Marshall caught a team-high 6 passes of his own for 45 yards on the day. Defensively, it was the Jets defense against the pass which stood out, despite being known as a run-stopping machine as New York held Miami QB Ryan Tannehill in check the entire game. Tannehill mustered up a mere 149 passing yards on just 17 of 28 passing. However the Jets pass rush only brought Tannehill down once on the day, and their usual stout run defense was exposed as Jay Ajayi had another solid outing. It wasn't another 200-yard game, but Ajayi did rack up 111 yards and a touchdown.
Los Angeles is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 week 10 matchups and 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games overall while the under is 40-19-1 in their last 60 road games. New York is 8-20 ATS in their last 28 games in the month of November and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall while the over is 3-0-1 in their last 4 games. The game has gone over the total in each of the last 4 meetings between these two teams.
The total has gone over in each of the last four games between the Rams and the Jets, however all of those teams in those matchups haven't had the problems these current squads face. Both struggle to score and have problems holding onto the football. However the one thing they have in common going for them is that both are solid defensively, which is why I think this game bucks the trends and finishes under the total.
