The Seattle Seahawks head to Foxborough to take on the New England Patriots in a Super Bowl 49 rematch in week 10’s edition of Sunday Night Football.
The Seattle Seahawks improved to 5-2-1 with a controversial 31-25 victory over the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football. The controversy coming in the form of multiple missed calls that some would argue cost Buffalo a solid chance at winning that game. Russell Wilson completed 20 of his 26 passes for 282 yards and a pair of touchdowns while being sacked 4 times on the night. However that was about as much offense as Seattle would receive as their ground attack failed to show up. The Seahawks managed a puny 33 yards on 12 carries on the night. The aforementioned Russell Wilson also had the biggest impact for Seattle out of the backfield as he turned his 3 carries into 10 yards and a touchdown. Jimmy Graham had his first 100-yard game since week 4 with 103 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 8 receptions to lead Seattle. Doug Baldwin also contributed 6 catches of his own for 89 yards while no other Seahawks receiver caught more than 2 passes on the night. It was an unusally average showing for the Seahawks defensively, as they allowed 425 yards of total offense to the Bills, although they did sack Buffalo QB Tyrod Taylor 4 times while Richard Sherman picked off Taylor for the lone blemish on the Bills QB’s statline.

The New England Patriots had a bye in week 9, however they hope to keep the momentum going from week 8, where they also defeated the Buffalo Bills, by a score of 41-25, thus winning their 4th straight game in the process to improve to 7-1. Tom Brady completed 22 of his 33 passes for 315 yards and 4 touchdowns on the day, to improve his career record against Buffalo to a staggering 26-3. LeGarrette Blount only managed 43 yards on 18 carries, however Blount did put up a touchdown for the 4th straight week and 7th time in 8 games this season. Brady spread the wealth out, as each of his 6 receivers that caught a pass, had at least 2 receptions with Rob Gronkowski leading the way catching 5 passes for 109 yards and the noteworthy 69th touchdown of Gronk’s career. Chris Hogan was probably the biggest surprise in the box score, as Hogan caught 4 passes for 91 yards including a 53-yard catch and run for a touchdown. Defensively, the Patriots held Buffalo QB Tyrod Taylor in check, limiting Taylor to just 183 yards while completing only half of his 38 attempts on the day and sacking Taylor twice. The Patriots best defense came in the form of a solid offense however New England will probably need a solid outing from their defense as this Seahawks defense has a tendency to be as tough as they come.
Seattle is 3-8-1 ATS against a team with a winning record and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games in the month of November while the under is 6-2 in their last 8 road games. New England is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 21-8-2 ATS in their last 31 home games while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games following a bye week. The game has gone over the total in each of the last 4 meetings between these two teams.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I had New England running the table once Brady came back as this Patriots squad is playing with a massive chip on their shoulders. The Seahawks are one of the best in the NFC, however with how well the Patriots have performed, I have to side with a rested New England team against a Seahawks team playing on a short week.
Lay the points with New England.
