The Cleveland Browns still search for their first win of the season when they host the New York Giants in week 12 NFL action.
The New York Giants improved to 7-3 following a 22-16 win over the Chicago Bears in week 11. New York actually found themselves down at halftime by a score of 16-9 but used 13 unanswered points to steal the victory. Eli Manning completed 21 of his 36 pass attempts for 227 yards and a pair of touchdowns while avoiding the sack for the 3rd time this season. Rashad Jennings led the Giants ground attack with 85 yards and a touchdown on his 21 carries. Sterling Shepard was one of 3 Giants with 5 receptions in the game, however he led the G-men with 50 yards and a touchdown on the night. Odell Beckham Jr. used his 5 catches to put up 46 yards while Rashad Jennings pulled down 5 balls out of the backfield for 44 yards on the night. Defensively, the Giants put forth a pretty strong effort, despite falling behind early. The Bears were held to just 315 yards of total offense while Landon Collins recorded a pick off of Brian Hoyer, his 5th of the season. New York also pulled down Bears QB Jay Cutler a total of 4 times on the day, led by Jason Pierre-Paul who logged 2.5 sacks in the win while Olivier Vernon chipped in a sack of his own while Johnathan Hankins made up the 2nd half of JPP’s sack.

The Cleveland Browns dropped to 0-11 after falling to the Pittsburgh Steelers by a final score of 24-9, improving Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger’s career record vs. the Browns to 21-2. Cody Kessler completed 7 of his 14 passes for 128 yards and an interception before leaving the game with a possible concussion. Josh McCown then took over, completing 14 of his 27 passes for 118 yards and a touchdown. The Browns’ run game was non-existent as McCown also led Cleveland with 11 rushing yards on just 2 attempts, while Isaiah Crowell posted just 10 yards on a team-high 8 carries. Terrelle Pryor Sr. caught a team-high 5 passes for 97 yards while tight end Gary Barnidge caught 2 passes for 23 yards, including Cleveland’s lone touchdown in the game. Defensively, the Browns couldn’t get any pass rush on Ben Roethlisberger as they were unable to sack him or intercept any of his passes in the game, as well as letting LeVeon Bell use his 28 carries to rack up 146 yards and a touchdown. It’s not often you allow 313 yards and take the loss, but the Browns can’t catch a break and it’s starting to look like a team that could end up going winless this season.
New York is 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games against a team with a losing home record while the under is 14-6 in their last 20 games on grass. Cleveland is 4-17 ATS in their last 21 games overall and 0-6 ATS in their last 6 home games while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 week 12 matchups.
The Cleveland Browns just keep finding ways to lose and haven’t even covered in any of their home games this season. New York is still battling for a division title with a date with the Cowboys looming on the horizon. The pick makes me queasy considering these are the kinds of games that the Giants gag and they end up losing when they shouldn’t. But the Browns are downright garbage and are automatic fade material.
Lay the points with the Giants.
