Coming up in the NFL’s next edition of “Monday Night Football” on December 5, the Indianapolis Colts will be meeting up with the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium.

Indianapolis comes into this game with a 5-6 record on the year and have won two of their last three. The Colts dropped their most recent game this past Thursday against the Steelers 28-7, however. In that one, Colts QB Scott Tolzien went 22-of-36 for 205 yards, one TD and two picks.

On the year so far, Andrew Luck leads the way for Indianapolis at QB with 2827 yards, 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions but is dealing with a concussion right now. On the ground, Frank Gore leads the Colts with 178 rushes for 670 yards and four touchdowns, while T.Y. Hilton is tops in receiving with 60 receptions for 942 yards and five touchdowns.

Over on the Jets’ side, they’re skidding into Monday’s matchup with a disappointing 3-8 record on the year and have lost seven of their last nine games. New York’s most recent loss came this past Sunday against the rival Patriots 22-17. In that game, Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick played pretty well on a 22-of-32 line for 269 yards and two touchdowns.

So far this season, Fitzpatrick has thrown for 2252 yards, 10 touchdowns and 13 interceptions, while Matt Forte leads the Jets on 202 attempts for 759 yards and seven scores. Brandon Marshall is New York’s leading receiver with 49 receptions for 668 yards and three touchdowns.

The Colts are 4-1 ATS in their last five games following an ATS loss, and 4-1 ATS in their last five games in Week 13. Indianapolis is also 10-4 ATS in their last 14 Monday games, and 23-7 ATS versus a team with a losing record.

As for the Jets, they’re 10-1-2 ATS in their last 13 games in December and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 home games versus a team with a losing road record. New York is also 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games following an ATS win, and the under is 4-0 in the Jets’ last four Monday games.

This game is going to come down to one thing, and that’s the health of Andrew Luck. If he’s back to normal and over his concussion (he’s practicing this week), the Colts have the advantage against a suspect Jets secondary. If Tolzien plays, New York’s front will have a field day on the blitz and wreak all sorts of havoc in the backfield. Contingent on Luck playing—which I believe he will—I’m taking the Colts to cover here.
