Over at CenturyLink Field in Seattle on Saturday, December 24, Week 16 of the NFL season will continue with a matchup between the Arizona Cardinals and the Seattle Seahawks.
The Cardinals are entering this game with a 5-8-1 record on the season. Arizona has lost their last two matchups, most recently a 48-41 defeat by the Saints on Sunday. In that game, the Cardinals allowed 389 yards and four touchdowns to New Orleans’ Drew Brees.
So far this year, Cardinals QB Carson Palmer holds 3694 yards with 22 touchdowns and 13 interceptions, while David Johnson leads the team on 1138 rush yards and 13 touchdowns. Larry Fitzgerald is once again Arizona’s top receiver with 949 yards and five touchdowns.
Over on the Seahawks side, they’re coming into Week 16 with a 9-4-1 record this year. Seattle is 2-2 in their last four games, and coming off a 24-3 win over the Rams. During that matchup, Seahawks QB Russell Wilson bagged 229 yards with three touchdowns.
On the season thus far, Wilson holds 3611 yards, 16 touchdowns and 11 picks, while Christine Michael is Seattle’s top rusher with 117 attempts, 469 yards and six scores. Doug Baldwin is No. 1 on the Seahawks’ receiving corps with 79 receptions, 913 yards and six touchdowns.
The Seahawks are 12-5 ATS in their last 17 games in December, and 1-4 ATS in their last five Saturday games. Seattle is also 1-4 ATS in their last five games versus the NFC West, and 1-5 ATS in their last six games following an ATS loss.
Meanwhile, the Cardinals are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games, and 4-1 ATS in their last five versus the NFC West. Arizona is also 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall, and 11-5 ATS versus a team with a losing record.
All things considered, this should be a Seattle victory, but it’s a little concerning that the Seahawks have scored just 15 points in their two losses this past month. (It’s worth noting that those were both road games, however.) If we get the “good” Seahawks team here, they should have no trouble covering.
