The Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks meet up at Lambeau Field on Sunday in what some are calling a preview of this season’s NFC Championship game.
The Seahawks look to make an early statement with a pivotal road victory against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, but a win at Lambeau is always tough to come by for visitors and this spot is no different. The Hawks though have a very sound roster led of course by their stout defense that includes Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, Earl Thomas, and Bobby Wagner and they will be leaned on heavily in this one spot against a very strong Packers offense that will be out to get back to the Super Bowl. Russell Wilson is slated for a big season and while the running game remains a question mark, the Seahawks have some great pass catchers led by Doug Baldwin and Jimmy Graham and they will have to go drive for drive with a Packers side that can shred even the best of defenses.

The Packers meanwhile look to prove they are the class of the NFC once again but they will have some company, including the Seahawks, in what should be a very competitive season at the top of the hill. Green Bay will lean on Ty Montgomery, Jordy Nelson, Davante Adams, and Randall Cobb on offense and with Rodgers behind centre it is easy for the skill position players to shine as the front runner for the MVP award makes those around him better and will likely do so again this season. Green Bay’s defense though will need to sharpen up as they will have to match the skill of their offense if they’re going to compete with the league’s best and a strong showing at home in week one would be a huge building block.
The Seahawks are 1-5 ATS in their last six on grass and 0-4 in their last four ATS on the road while the Packers are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 season openers. The status of Seattle’s running game has a lot of money coming in on the Packers but I think this one will stay close as these two sides are very close and if the Hawks defense can make the Packers offense one dimensional they have a shot at winning outright.
