The Buffalo Bills look to move to 2-0 as they take to the road for the first time to match up with the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
The Bills look for a statement victory as they head on the road to match up with the Carolina Panthers in a show down of two teams who came away with season opening victories last weekend, but both teams will be in tough in this one in comparison to their week one tussles. Buffalo came into the season on the heels of some offseason movement that included deals involving Sammy Watkins getting shown the door and Jordan Matthews coming in and while they didn’t face the stiffest competition in week one against the lowly New York Jets they did some have positives as their running game looked as strong as ever and their defense could surprise some people even without Stephon Gilmore who darted for the defending Super Bowl champions in the offseason.
The Panthers meanwhile dominated the San Francisco 49ers in the Bay Area last weekend and are expected to do more of the same in this one against the Bills as they head into the Sunday show down as favourites by almost a touchdown. Carolina had a disappointing season last year but are expected to be right back in the mix in the NFC this season as they are solid on both sides of the ball and with this being their home opener they should be fired up to send the Panthers faithful home happy with a dominating effort that would send them to 2-0. Cam Newton has some solid options to work with through the air and Christian McCaffery will be out for his rookie season breakout here in a game that should be very exciting to watch.
The Bills are 1-6 ATS in their last seven on grass and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 overall while the Panthers are 5-1 ATS in their last six games in week two and 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games. This should be a battle of the ground attack and with two mobile quarterbacks I think this game could come down to the wire and I think the line is moving in the wrong direction.
