The Dallas Cowboys look to put the league on notice as they head into Mile High to take on the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
The Cowboys are coming off a season opening victory at home against the Odell Beckham-less New York Giants and they will look to parlay that victory into another win in week two on the road against the Broncos who can also advance to 2-0 this weekend. Dallas received a huge shot in the arm when it was learned that star running back Ezekiel Elliott would not miss any time this season because of a lingering domestic violence case and his presence in the back field will certainly give this team an added dimension on the offensive side of the ball, and in this one against a stout Broncos defense, his efforts will be pivotal. Dallas is a light favourite here but the line is less than a field goal and is moving in the direction of the visitors which makes a few alarms go off.
USA TODAY Sports
The Broncos are coming off a win against the Los Angeles Chargers in week one and while they are playing on a short week thanks to their Monday Night football encounter they should be in great shape here and fired up for a big effort against the Cowboys. Denver is projected by many to be a playoff team and a win at home against another league power house would certainly put them in the discussion as one of the league’s elite, and while they have some company in the AFC West I think it is safe to say that with the defense the Broncos have they are certainly capable of getting back to the Super Bowl as early as this season.
The Cowboys are 19-7 ATS in their last 26 on grass and 1-5 in their last six ATS against a team with a winning record while the Broncos are 1-4 ATS in their last five against a team with a winning record and 7-3-2 in their last 12 ATS at home. The Cowboys continue to get the public money but with this one being in Denver I like the Broncos to get the win and at the very least keep this one close.
