The Indianapolis Colts and the Seattle Seahawks face off in week 4’s edition of Sunday Night Football on NBC from CenturyLink Field.
The Indianapolis Colts will look to build on their first victory of the season, a 31-28 win over the Cleveland Browns in week 3 to improve to 1-2 this season. Jacoby Brissett led the Colts with 259 yards and a touchdown on 17 of 24 passing, while also notching a pair of rushing touchdowns on 5 carries. Frank Gore led the Ravens’ ground attack with 57 yards on 25 carries with a touchdown. T.Y. Holton racked up a whopping 153 yards and a touchdown on 7 receptions while Donte Moncrief and Jack Doyle each recorded a pair of receptions in the win. As a team, Indianapolis combined for a sack and 3 interceptions, including a pair of picks from Rashaan Melvin while allowing 346 yards of total offense and winning the time of possession battle, holding the rock for over 33 minutes in the win.
The Seattle Seahawks will look to rebound after a 33-27 defeat at the hands of the Tennessee Titans in week 3 to fall to 1-2 this season. Russell Wilson completed 29 of 49 passes for 373 yards and 4 touchdowns, while also racking up 26 yards on 7 carries. Chris Carson led Seattle’s ground attack with 34 yards on a team-high 11 carries. Doug Baldwin led the team with 10 receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown, while Jimmy Graham hauled in 7 balls for 72 yards. Luke Willson, Paul Richardson and the aforementioned Carson each logged a receiving touchdown in the losing effort. It was another suspect outing from the Seattle defense, allowing 420 yards of total offense in the loss, including a whopping 195 yards on the ground.
Indianapolis is 26-8 ATS in their last 34 games against a team with a losing record and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a win while the over is 24-9 in their last 33 road games. Seattle is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games while the under is 11-5 in their last 16 games against a team with a losing record. Indianapolis is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.
Seattle is in somewhat unfamiliar territory at 1-2, and it’ll be interesting to see how they respond here. However, Seattle hasn’t had any luck against the spread lately, and I think almost two touchdowns is a lot to give up against a Colts team that looks to have figured things out in their win last week. I think Brissett and the Colts will wake up for the bright lights of primetime, and give the Seahawks a scare, so while I’m not sure the Colts win this one outright, I’ll gladly take the Colts and the points.
