The Jacksonville Jaguars and the Pittsburgh Steelers square off in week 5 NFL action from Heinz Field on Sunday afternoon.
The Jacksonville Jaguars will try to bounce back after falling to the New York Jets in overtime in week 4 by a final score of 23-20 to even up their record at 2-2 this season. Blake Bortles completed just 15 of his 35 pass attempts for 140 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Leonard Fournette led the team with 86 ryshing yards on 24 carries while also caught 4 passes out of the backfield for 59 yards and a touchdown. Allen Hurns also caught 4 passes for 42 yards, and after Hurns, no Jaguar caught more than 2 passes in the loss. Defensively, the Jags combined for 5 sacks, an interceptions and a fumble recovery that was taken back 81 yards to the house by Myles Jack.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will look to improve their division leading 3-1 record after taking down the Baltimore Ravens by a final score of 26-9 in week 4. Ben Roethlisberger completed 18 of his 30 pass attempt for 216 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Le’Veon Bell took his team-high 35 carries and turned them into 144 yards and a pair of rushing TDs. 5 different Steelers had at least 3 receptions, led by Martavis Bryant who caught 3 passes for a team-high 48 yards, while JuJu Smith-Schuster caught 3 balls of his own for 47 yards and a score. Defensively, the Steelers combined for 4 sacks, a pair of interceptions and a fumble recovery in the win, all while holding the Ravens to just 288 yards of total offense and dominating the time of possession battle, with Pittsburgh holding onto the rock for over 35 minutes in the win.
Jacksonville is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games following a loss. Pittsburgh is 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 games overall and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 home games while the under is 24-9-1 in their last 34 games against the AFC. The underdog is 8-1 ATS in the last 9 meetings between these two teams.
The Jaguars loss against the Jets wasn’t great, and normally wouldn’t instill much confidence. However, the Jaguars are still a team that can run the ball well with Fournette in the backfield, and blew out the Ravens by 37 points, the same team that Pittsburgh only beat by 17 last week. Yeah, I know I said ONLY 17, but in a matchup where the underdog has had the bulk of the success against the spread, I think having a touchdown in our pocket could come in handy, and the extra point is enough to sway me towards Jacksonville and the points here.
