Out at LA Memorial Coliseum on Sunday, the Seattle Seahawks and the Los Angeles Rams will be meeting up in Week 5 NFL action.
Seattle is currently 2-2 following losses to the Packers and Titans, as well as wins over San Francisco and Indianapolis. In that Colts game, Seahawks QB Russell Wilson posted 295 yards, two scores and two picks, while Eddie Lacy was the top rusher on his 11 carries and 52 yards.
So far this year, Wilson has amassed 1024 yards, seven touchdowns and two picks; Chris Carson is the Seahawks’ leading rusher on 208 yards from 49 carries. Doug Baldwin sits atop the Seattle receivers, posting 31 targets, 23 catches, 247 yards and one TD.
Over on the Rams’ side, they’re sitting at 3-1 this season with their only blemish being a 27-20 loss to the Redskins in Week 2. Otherwise, LA has beaten the Colts, 49ers and Cowboys. In that Dallas game, Rams QB Jared Goff posted 255 yards and a TD while Todd Gurley managed 23 rushes and 121 yards.
On the season, Goff has 1072 yards, seven touchdowns and one pick, while Gurley is the top LA rusher on 362 yards and four touchdowns on 86 attempts. Gurley is also the Rams’ top receiver with 25 targets, 20 catches, 234 yards and three scores.
The Seahawks are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games in Week 5 and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. Seattle is also 1-5 ATS in their last six versus the NFC and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games following a straight-up win.
Meanwhile, the Rams are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games in Week 5 and 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 games overall. LA is also 1-7-1 ATS in their last nine home games and 1-9-1 ATS in their last 11 versus the NFC.
On the whole, the Seahawks have been competitive this year, as their losses came by eight and six points. Seattle stalled out offensively in the first two games but seem to have caught their grove over the past couple weeks. As for the Rams, they’re the darling underdogs of the NFL right now, but who have they beaten? The Colts? Everyone beats the Colts. The 49ers? San Francisco is a bad team. Dallas? This is a win to hang your proverbial hat on, but lately we’re seeing the Cowboys are not the team of 2016. This should be a relatively close game, but I think the Seahawks will take some air out of LA’s sails here. I’ll take Seattle.
