The Atlanta Falcons look to put their bye week to good use as they welcome the Miami Dolphins to Atlanta on Sunday.
The Dolphins are hoping a trip to the road and a matchup with the Falcons is what will turn their fortunes around, but with the Falcons having their sights set on another division title and return trip to the Super Bowl they know this isn’t going to be an easy feat to pull off. Miami has struggled with Jay Cutler under center and the home fans in Miami were calling for Matt Moore last weekend, and while he may not be the answer in the interim without Ryan Tannehill available it may be the spark needed to get their offense rolling. The part for the Fins here is they have all of the talent in the world on offense as guys like Jay Ajayi, Devante Parker, and Jarvis Landry are all game breakers but without a legitimate threat to worry about at the quarterback position it makes those guys obsolete and that is exactly the problems we have seen from this Dolphins team this season.
The Falcons meanwhile have had a strong start and are 3-1 through their first four games and coming off a bye week they should be rested, healthy, and focused to rebound after a loss to the Buffalo Bills in their last outing. The Falcons are the cream of the crop when it comes to the NFC South and are favourites to get back to the Super Bowl this season but with the Bucs improving, the Panthers seemingly back to where they were a few years ago, and the Saints having an explosive offense once again they know they need to act quickly and can’t afford another soft loss that this one would qualify as.
The Dolphins are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 following a cover and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 against a team with a winning record at home while the Falcons are 5-1 ATS in their last six after failing to cover and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games on grass. This line is getting out of control as it opened up at nine points and has moved to 13 but I don’t think it’ll matter as the Falcons offense should be rolling here and regardless of who is behind center for the Dolphins I can’t see them sticking around.
