The Carolina Panthers look to get back in the win column as they head into the Windy City to do battle with the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
The Panthers look to stay perfect on the road as they head into Soldier Field to square off with the Chicago Bears who have been great at home over the last couple of seasons against the spread and against teams with a winning record. The Panthers seem to go as far as Cam Newton is willing to take them and some weeks they look like Super Bowl contenders while others they look like a team ready for a lottery pick but this looks like a spot for them to rebound as they are right in the mix for top spot in the NFC South this season. Carolina’s defense suffered a blow when they lost Luke Kuechly to yet another concussion and his status for this one has him out of the lineup which is bad news for the Panthers and great news for Jordan Howard and the Chicago running game.

The Bears are 2-4 so far this season but are looking more and more serviceable with each passing game and now that Mitch Trubisky is officially the team’s starter it can only be good news for his development and for the team’s as well who are looking to get back to relevance in the NFC. The Bears have had to deal with a laundry list of injuries and as such they haven’t had the best season in terms of wins and losses but they can make a serious statement here against a Panthers side that is 4-2 and in need of a win here.
The Panthers are 5-0 ATS in their last five road games and 5-1 in their last six ATS following a failure to cover while the Bears are 6-1 ATS in their last seven against a team with a winning record and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 in October. Carolina needs to get a win here or else they will fall behind the rest of the pack and while Chicago is likely to move the ball on offense I don’t see them being able to stay close the whole game as the Cats pull away late.
