The Cleveland Browns look for their first win of the season as they welcome the Tennessee Titans to town on Sunday afternoon.
The Titans look an inspired effort and an easy Sunday as they head into Ohio to face off with the Cleveland Browns who have become a league doormat over the years and a stomping grounds for teams to pad their stats and chalk up the win column. The Titans are coming off a solid effort last weekend in which they took down the Indianapolis Colts thanks in large part to the play of Derrick Henry as the former Heisman winner from Alabama is looking like a very legitimate threat in the back field and will continue to take away carries from Demarco Murray. The Titans are hoping Marcus Mariota is a little healthier in this one as he was pretty immobile last weekend, but that could be a blessing in disguise as one knock on Mariota is his play as a pocket passer, and last week he looked more than capable of doing so long term.
The Browns meanwhile are sitting at 0-6 to start the season and while they have been competitive in a few of those spots they are once again the league’s worst team and have a ways to go before they will be back in the discussion as a potential playoff team. Cleveland has had their quarterback carousel on full blast once again but it looks like Deshone Kizer will get the call here against the Titans and as such he will lean heavily on Isaiah Crowell and Duke Johnson who have really been the only ones on the Browns offense who has done much of anything.
The Titans are 7-19 ATS in their last 26 road games and 5-23-3 ATS in their last 31 against a team with a losing record while the Browns are 3-13 ATS in their last 16 home games and 0-5 ATS in their last five in October. Cleveland is knocking on the door and while the Titans should get the win and keep the clock moving thanks to the ground game I do think the Browns have a chance to keep this one close with a last drive winning this one.
