The Houston Texans begin life without Deshaun Watson on Sunday as they welcome the Indianapolis Colts to town for an AFC South show down.
The Colts caught a huge break with news of Deshaun Watson's injury this week as the rookie pivot was playing out of his mind this season and was a shoe in for rookie of the year honours but now that he is out for the rest of the season it opens up the AFC SOuth division and the Colts, Jags, and Titans are right back in the mix as the Texans are a completely different team with Tom Savage behind center. Indy has had their own quarterback concerns this season as Andrew Luck has been out all year and will not return until next season but former Patriots pivot Jacoby Brissett has actually been more than serviceable as he adds a dimension to Indy's offense with his legs. The Colts need a big game from TY Hilton and the rest of the offense as this Texans team looks deflated right now and are without Watson, JJ Watt, and Whitney Mercilus which is a huge blow for the Texans who came in with huge playoff aspirations this season.

The Texans are in big trouble here and while Savage was the team's starter coming out of training camp I don't think there was any doubt that Watson was going to take over and after seeing him on the field the former Clemson signal caller earned his stripes and actually had some consideration for league MVP before his ACL tear sidelined him this week. Houston does have some play makers in Deandre Hopkins and Lamar Miller but they take a serious hit with Savage running the offense and unless they can come up with something I think this game will stay close within the line indicated here that has already dropped from 11.5 down 7 after the injury to Watson.
Indianapolis is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 division matchups and 11-2 ATS in their last 13 road games against a team with a losing home record while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall. Houston is 9-3-1 ATS in their last 12 division matchups and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 home games. Indianapolis is 3-0-1 ATS in the last 4 meetings between these two teams in Houston. Indy will need Brissett to play well and bail out the offense at times and I think he can do enough to keep the Colts within a touchdown here.
