The Cincinnati Bengals head into Tennessee to take on the Titans on Sunday in a game that has big playoff implications for both teams in the AFC.
The Bengals look to shake off a tough road loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars last weekend as they continue their run against teams from the AFC South as they take on the Tennessee Titans on the road on Sunday and will need to snap out of their road losing ways if they’re going to have a glimmer of hope for a playoff spot in the AFC. Cincy had been on the ascent after a sluggish start forced some coaching changes but it looked as though Andy Dalton and company had found their game but with a 3-5 record half way through the season and a 10-win mark likely necessary for a playoff spot the Bengals look as though they need to go 7-1 just to have a shot at with the way they have been playing it doesn’t look possible.
The Titans meanwhile have been cover machines at home lately and are hoping for another strong effort this weekend as things are completely wide open in the AFC South thanks to the Deshaun Watson injury and with the talent the Titans have they are a solid bet to take control. Tennessee is pretty solid across the board offensively as they have a deep line, a receiving corps with plenty of options, a double headed, multi talented running game and a quarterback in Marcus Mariota who is a dual threat through the air and on the ground. The Titans have slipped up in November over the last couple of seasons though and when the lights shine brightest they seem to fade out and they know they need to stop that trend if they’re going to be playoff bound this season.
The Bengals are 0-4 ATS in their last four in November and 2-5 ATS in their last seven against the AFC while the Titans are 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight home games and 11-36-4 in their last 51 against the AFC. Cincy is a wreck right now and things are boiling over and while this line seems a bit heavy I think the Titans run game can do enough to get a cover here late in a must win for them.
