The Minnesota Vikings look to continue their impressive start to the season as they head into Washington to face off with the Redskins on Sunday.
The Vikings look for a pivotal road win on Sunday as they face off against a Redskins side that is hoping to keep pace in the competitive NFC East as both teams can take another step towards a playoff spot with a victory. Minnesota has had to deal with a slew of injuries this season as both Sam Bradford and Dalvin Cook appear to have been lost for the season yet the Vikings continue to roll with Case Keenum under centre and with the receiving weapons being what they are, the balance of Latavius Murray and Jerick McKinnon in the run game, and one of the league’s best defenses the Vikings look like a legitimate threat to win the NFC at this point. Minny will be out for another statement road win as they take on a Redskins side that is just 4-4 on the season and hasn’t quite looked like the playoff contender many expected to see this season.
USA TODAY Sports
The Redskins have been getting beaten up by the sports books over the last few weeks and this spot doesn’t get any easier as they welcome a hard hitting Vikings team to town in what should be a very competitive and exciting contest. Washington is a disappointing 1-5 in their last six games ATS following a win and have been dreadful at home against teams with a winning road record and they will need a strong effort from Kirk Cousins and the rest of the offense against a stingy Vikings defense if they’re going to not only keep this one close but pull out the victory at home.
The Vikings are 23-8 ATS in their last 31 following a cover and 1-6 ATS in their last seven on grass while the Redskins are 5-0 ATS in their last five in November and 2-5 ATS in their last seven against the NFC. Washington is in tough here as the Vikings defense is playing with a ton of confidence and I don’t see their offense being able to do much on them as Minny gets the win and cover.
