The Tampa Bay Bucs look to turn around their dismal season as they welcome the New York Jets to town on Sunday without their starting quarterback and star receiver.
The Jets have silenced their critics this season and have gone from a team expected to win very few if any football games this season to a group that has not only been competitive almost every week but has pulled off some impressive wins including last Thursday’s domination of the Buffalo Bills. The Jets defense is incredibly underrated and they have given their offense a chance every week to win games and while they have struggled on the road they are in a good spot here as the Bucs have been woeful with their team at full strength and now they have to try to find a way to win with former Jets pivot Ryan Fitzpatrick behind center and Mike Evans in the press box thanks to a one game suspension.
The Bucs have had a terrible season but they have been very good against the spread in November over the years and they are hoping that trend will continue here as they have fallen well short of expectations this season and are a dreadful 2-6 on the year. Tampa came into the season with high expectations as they brought in some big pieces for their offense and already had some game breakers on defense but things haven’t gone to plan this season and now with Jameis Winston potentially out for the season and Evans out for this one they could be in trouble if the Jets defense is ready to feast.
The Jets are 6-0-1 ATS in their last seven overall and 1-4 ATS in their last five in week 10 while the Bucs are 16-6-1 in their last 23 ATS in November and 1-4 ATS in their last five against a team with a losing record. New York is riding high after last week while Tampa is boiling over and without their two best players I think the Jets get a big road win.
