The Houston Texans and Arizona Cardinals face off in an inter-conference show down in Texas as both teams look to make a late season push towards the playoffs.
The Cardinals head into Houston looking to take advantage of some of the major holes on this Texans roster as a result of season ending injuries, but the red birds have their own issues as they will be without Carson Palmer and David Johnson who are both out for the year. The Cards come into this one sending former Jags and Niners pivot Blaine Gabbert behind center who has supplanted Drew Stanton as the new signal caller and while Gabbert hasn’t had an illustrious career and if often included in the discussion as one of the league’s worst quarterbacks he has the support of his head coach Bruce Arians who said some expletives when discussing his new pivots former quarterback situations.

The Texans meanwhile will once again be without JJ Watt and Deshaun Watson who have suffered season ending injuries as well and the Texans are forced into winning games with Tom Savage behind center. Houston does have some big time game breakers on the offensive side of the ball as both Lamar Miller and Deandre Hopkins should be able to blow this game open as the Cardinals defense hasn’t been anything to fear for most of the season and the Texans are hoping this is not their coming out party.
The Cardinals are 1-4 ATS in their last five on the road and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 following a failure to cover while the Texans are 5-2 ATS in their last seven on turf and 0-4 in their last four ATS in November. The Cards started as a slight favourite and are now an underdog meaning the big money is coming in on the Texans and I tend to agree as to me they still have the better players on offense and with both defenses seemingly being a wash I like the home side with the light line.
