The Jacksonville Jaguars and Cleveland Browns meet Sunday in NFL action at FirstEnergy Stadium.
The Jacksonville Jaguars look for a fourth straight victory to build on their lead in the AFC South. The Jacksonville Jaguars have split their last six road games. Blake Bortles is completing 58.6 percent of his passes for 1,930 yards, 11 touchdowns and six interceptions. Bortles has one or less touchdown passes in six straight games. Marqise Lee and Allen Hurns have combined for 939 receiving yards and four touchdowns while Keelan Cole has 14 receptions. The Jacksonville Jaguars ground game is averaging 163 yards per contest, and Leonard Fournette leads the way with 629 yards and six touchdowns. Defensively, Jacksonville is allowing 14.9 points and 285.8 yards per game. Telvin Smith leads the Jacksonville Jaguars with 71 tackles, Calais Campbell has 11 sacks and Tashaun Gipson has three interceptions.
The Cleveland Browns are still looking for their first victory since Christmas Eve of last year. The Cleveland Browns have lost five straight home games. DeShone Kizer is completing 52.8 percent of his passes for 1,376 yards, four touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Kizer has one combined touchdown pass in his last five games. Duke Johnson Jr. and Ricardo Louis have combined for 665 receiving yards and one touchdown while Seth DeValve has 21 receptions. The Cleveland Browns ground game is averaging 106.9 yards per contest, and Isaiah Crowell leads the way with 441 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, Cleveland is allowing 26.7 points and 317 yards per game. Joe Schobert leads the Cleveland Browns with 77 tackles, Emmanuel Ogbah has four sacks and Jason McCourty has three interceptions.
The Jaguars are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up win, 8-3 ATS in their last 11 vs. AFC and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games. The Browns are 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 vs. AFC, 3-11 ATS in their last 14 home games and 5-20-1 ATS in their last 26 games overall. The home team is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings. The under is 13-3 in Browns last 16 home games and the under is 4-1 in Jaguars last 5 games overall.
I really want to make a case for the Browns and the free touchdown, as Cleveland has played in a lot of close games this season and came so close to beating the Detroit Lions last week before running out of gas in the second half. However, you have to question how much the Browns have left in the tank, as losing does take its toll at some point and now the defense just lost Jamie Collins for the rest of the season. Also, five of the Jaguars six victories this year have been decided by double digits. The Jags physical style at both ends of the field is going to wear down these Browns, and you have to question just how the Browns are going to score. Jacksonville is allowing just eight points per contest in its last three games. Give me the Jaguars by double digits.
