We have an AFC East showdown on tap as the New England Patriots head to New Era Field to take on the Buffalo Bills in week 13 NFL action.
The New England Patriots will try to add to their current 7 game winning streak, sitting at 9-2 this season after a 35-17 win over Miami in their last outing. Tom Brady threw for 227 yards, 4 touchdowns and an interception on 18 of 28 passing, while Dion Lewis led the Pats with 112 rushing yards on 15 carries. Rex Burkhead added 50 rushing yards and a touchdown on 13 carries, while Brandin Cooks led the team with 83 yards and a touchdown on 6 catches. Rob Gronkowski came 2nd with 82 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 5 catches, while Burkhead added a 2nd touchdown receiving out of the backfield. The Patriots defense was as busy as it’s ever been, combining for 7 sacks, a pair of interceptions and a pair of forced fumbles, one of which was recovered, and all while holding Miami to just 221 yards of total offense and a 2 for 11 mark on 3rd down in the win.

The Buffalo Bills will look for another win to keep their playoff hopes alive after a 16-10 win over Kansas City in their last outing brought the Bills to 6-5 this season. Tyrod Taylor threw for 183 yards and a touchdown on 19 of 29 passing, while LeSean McCoy led the Buffalo ground attack with 49 yards on 22 carries. Charles Clay led the team with 60 receiving yards on 4 catches, while Zay Jones added a touchdown grab and McCoy chipped in 4 catches of his own out of the backfield. On defense, the Bills combined for a pair of sacks and an interception, all while stifling the Chiefs to the tune of 236 yards of total offense and a 2 for 11 mark on 3rd down in the win.
New England is 12-2 ATS in their last 14 road games and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 5-2 in their last 7 games overall. Buffalo is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 division matchups and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 home games while the over is 8-3 in their last 11 games against a team with a winning record. New England is 11-2 ATS in the last 13 meetings between these two teams in Buffalo.
To be perfectly honest, I’m surprised we are seeing such a drastic drop from the Patriots last game where they were 17-point favorites. I know the Bills are still in the playoff race and Buffalo’s defense suffocated the Chiefs. But Tom Brady has a career record of 26-3 against the Bills, including double digit wins in 8 of the last 11 meetings. I’ll gladly take anything in single digits, so I’ll lay the points with New England in one of my more confident plays of the week.
