The Kansas City Chiefs look to maintain their thin lead in the AFc West as they head into New York to battle the New York Jets on Sunday.
The Chiefs have gone from a Super Bowl contender to a fringe playoff team over the last couple of months as they have looked like nothing like the team that defeated the New England Patriots on opening night and are in a battle with the Raiders and Chargers for top spot in the division. Kansas City lost Eric Berry in their opening night win but they have been able to sustain some momentum without him but the play of Alex Smith over the last few weeks has been a major cause for concern and until they can rectify their woes under center this is a team that could very well fall short of the postseason after starting the year with so much promise and success.

The Jets meanwhile head into this weekend with a 4-7 record but they have won three of their games this season at home and will look to play spoiler against a Chiefs side that has fallen on hard times and aren’t looking like a threat to beat anybody at the moment. New York was projected to have one of the league’s worst seasons in NFL history but they have really surprised a lot of people and are in great shape moving forward here as they have a very strong defense and some developing pieces on offense that should give them a chance to not only keep this game close but to perhaps pull off the victory altogether.
The Chiefs are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 road games and played to the under in four of their last five in week 13 while the Jets are 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games and 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine overall. Kansas City has been reeling and things don’t get easier here as the Jets are pesky and to me they keep this one within reason and get a cover.
