The Eli Manning era in New York appears to be over as the Giants head into Oakland to face off with the Raiders in Week 13 NFL action.
The Giants have had a horrible season and it looks as though they are ready for a complete tear down as they have benched two time Super Bowl winner Eli Manning which has effectively ended his tenure with the G-Men in many people’s eyes. New York has had to deal with a slew of injuries to some top end talent including Odell Beckham and Brandon Marshall which hasn’t made this season an easy one on the veteran signal caller and now more than ever Giants fans are calling for the head of Ben McAdoo who has been the centre of a terrible season and is likely to be on his way out before seasons end. Luckily for the Giants though, they face a Raiders side who has been equally as disappointing and will be without their two best offensive weapons in Michael Crabtree and Amari Cooper making this a spot to potentially pull off their third win of the season.
The Raiders meanwhile are still in the hunt for a playoff spot after a big home win against the Denver Broncos last weekend and with New York coming to town with Geno Smith under center this could be the turnaround the Raiders defense has needed all season. Oakland was projected by many to be a Super Bowl contender this season after a such a strong campaign a year ago but with some questionable decision making in the front office and another disappointing campaign out of most of their defensive personnel it has relegated Oakland to a middle of the pack group that will have to fight tooth and nail just for a shot at the playoffs this season.
The Giants are 1-4 ATS in their last five overall and 0-4 ATS in their last four against a team with a losing record while the Raiders are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 in week 13 and 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine overall. Oakland needs a win here to keep their playoff hopes alive and they shouldn’t fear a terrible Giants side with Geno Smith at quarterback as they cruise without Cooper and Crabtree.
