The Denver Broncos look to shake out of their ugly road losing skid as they head into Washington to face off against the Redskins on Sunday.
The Broncos have been one of the league’s biggest disappointments this season as they have gone from Super Bowl contender to a league doormat and their issues at quarterback have shone through brightly this season, leaving John Elway scrambling to fix things up this offseason. Denver’s defense is still one of the best in the league though and against a Redskins side that has really cooled off in the second half of the season this could be a nice bounce back spot for the Broncos who have failed to cover in eight of their last 10 games and can’t elevate their play against teams they should be beating.
The Redskins meanwhile are 6-8 on the season and have been a big time disappointment in the NFC East as they are well back of the 12-2 Eagles and will be in the middle of the pack for a draft pick in the offseason as they have some glaring holes to fill. Washington is coming off a victory last weekend so they could ride that into this weekend and generate some more buzz in the final two weeks of the season but they are 0-4 in their last four games ATS coming off a straight up victory and against a Broncos side that has nothing to play for this one could go either way leaving us with a decision to make at a very light line.
The Broncos 1-8 ATS in their last nine on grass and have played to the under in seven of their last eight against a team with a losing record while the Redskins are 2-6 ATS in their last eight on grass and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 against a team with a losing record. Denver has been woeful on offense but their defense should keep them in this one in a game that figures to come down to the last possession
