The Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos meet Saturday in NFL preseason action at Broncos Stadium at Mile High.

The Chicago Bears are now 0-2 in preseason action after losing to the Cincinnati Bengals, 27-30. In the losing effort, Tyler Bray and Chase Daniel combined for 211 passing yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Benny Cunningham led the Bears with 37 rushing yards on six attempts while Javon Wims and Demarcus Ayers combined for 135 receiving yards on 12 receptions. Jonathan Anderson led the Bears with 10 tackles, Kylie Fitts had one sack and Jonathan Bullard had two tackles for loss. The Bears may be winless in the preseason, but those losses came by a combined four points, and they have yet to give their key starters much playing time. Despite the results, the Bears backups have more than held their own. The question I have is this being the third straight road game for the Bears, we may see some tired legs. The Chicago Bears have lost seven of their last 10 preseason games.

The Denver Broncos lost their preseason opener at home to the Minnesota Vikings, 28-42. In the losing effort, Chad Kelly and Paxton Lynch combined for 201 passing yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Royce Freeman led the Broncos with 38 rushing yards and one touchdown on four attempts while Matt LaCosse and Phillip Lindsay combined for 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns on five receptions. Will Parks led the Broncos with five tackles, Marcus Rush had one sack and Jeff Holland had one tackles for loss. The Broncos were beat up in their preseason opener, especially on the defensive side where they gave up over 400 yards, seven third down conversions and 24 first downs. Preseason or not, a team such as the Broncos that is built on defense will be eager to redeem itself in front of their home fans. It’s not often you see the Broncos giving up the most points in a particular week, and that was the case week 1 of the preseason. The Denver Broncos have won six of their last nine preseason games.

The Bears are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 road games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games on grass. The Broncos are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 Saturday games, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games and 2-10 ATS in their last 12 games overall. The Bears are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 meetings, the underdog is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings and the under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.

The Chicago Bears could easily be 2-0 in preseason action with a bounce here or a bounce there, so the points are attractive. However, the Denver Broncos are an experienced and prideful bunch that had to take last week personal and will want to put out a positive showing before taking the road for back-to-back weeks. Sure, preseason is preseason and nobody really cares about the scores at the end of the day, but it's easy for bad habits to develop, and giving up 40 points is not good. The Broncos should show up here. I'll lay the field goal.
