The Seattle Seahawks and Minnesota Vikings meet Friday in NFL preseason action at U.S. Bank Stadium.
The Seattle Seahawks are now 0-2 in preseason action after losing to the Los Angeles Chargers, 14-24. In the losing effort, Russell Wilson and Alex McGough combined for 290 passing yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions. Chris Carson led the Seahawks with 34 rushing yards on nine attempts while Jaron Brown and David Moore combined for 145 receiving yards on four receptions. Rasheem Green led the Seahawks with six tackles, Tedric Thompson had six tackles and Quinton Jefferson had 0.5 sacks. The Seahawks haven’t looked good offensively through two games, but this is an experienced enough team that you shouldn’t be worried too much. The issues for the Seahawks are the injuries to wide receiver Doug Baldwin, running back Rashaad Penny and the holdout with safety Earl Thomas. The Seattle Seahawks have won six of their last eight preseason games.

The Minnesota Vikings are now 1-1 in preseason action after losing to the Jacksonville Jaguars, 10-14. In the losing effort, Kyle Sloter and Trevor Siemian combined for 128 passing yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions. Mike Boone led the Vikings with 91 rushing yards and one touchdown on 13 attempts while Cayleb Jones and Jake Wieneke combined for 44 receiving yards on five receptions. Ifeadi Odenigbo led the Vikings with seven tackles, Eric Wilson had one sack and Stephen Weatherly had one tackle for loss. The Vikings have to get Kirk Cousins more up to speed, as he admitted that he still isn’t completely comfortable with the new offense. Besides hoping the injury bug finally leaves them alone, that should be the main focus of this game. Have a comfortable Cousins, and the Vikings are a legit Super Bowl contender. The Minnesota Vikings have split their last six preseason games.
The Seahawks are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games on fieldturf and 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 road games. The Vikings are 35-16 ATS in their last 51 games on fieldturf, 34-16-1 ATS in their last 51 home games and 42-19 ATS in their last 61 games overall. The home team is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings, the favorite is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings and the under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Minnesota.
I love getting points in preseason games and finding hooks are always nice as well. The problem is the Seattle Seahawks offensively in their first two games and that's probably not changing until they get some key players back. This is also the game where the starters play the bulk of the contest, so while Wilson and others will be on the field for Seattle, it's hard seeing anybody have consistent success against this Minnesota Vikings starting defense. The Vikings should be able to control this game from start to finish and get a comfortable victory at home.
