Up at the famous Soldier Field on Saturday, the Kansas City Chiefs will be visiting the Chicago Bears in NFL preseason action.
Kansas City is coming off a pretty good regular season in 2017, as they fought to a 10-6 record and an AFC West championship. Things went sour during the Wild Card Game against the Titans however, as KC fell in a heartbreaker 22-21.

The Chiefs are 1-1 in the preseason so far, following a 17-10 loss to the Texans and a 28-14 win over the Falcons. In the Atlanta game, Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes posted 138 yards, one TD and one pick while Kerwynn Williams led the team on eight carries for 23 yards.
Over on the Bears’ side, they’re looking to make some positive steps this season following a 5-11 2017 and a bottom-barrel NFC North finish. Adding the proverbial insult to the injury, it marked the first season since 1969 that the Bears failed to win a game against a divisional opponent.
Chicago has begun the preseason at 0-2, with losses 17-16 to the Ravens and 30-27 to the Bengals. In the Cincinnati matchup, Bears QB Mitch Trubisky was 2-for-4 for four yards, while Ryan Nall logged nine carries for 95 yards on the ground.
The Chiefs are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five games on grass. KC is also 2-5 ATS in their last seven Saturday games and 1-4 ATS in their last five road games.
Meanwhile, the Bears are 9-3-1 ATS in their last 13 home games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games on grass. The under is 6-0 in Chicago’s last six games overall and 6-2 in their last eight home games.
We’re going to be seeing lots of new faces and philosophies from both teams here, but on paper it seems like the Chiefs will be going through more of a comparative change. KC will need to show some progress in the QB spot here, which might not be out of the question. As for Chicago, they’re going to want to get Trubisky involved quite a bit here to set him up for the regular season, and they’ll give him every opportunity to do so. I’m going Bears.
