The Tennessee Titans and the Jacksonville Jaguars meet in week 3 AFC South division action from EverBank Stadium in an NFL matchup on Sunday afternoon.
The Tennessee Titans will look to build on their first win of the season coming in the form of a 20-17 victory over Houston in their last outing. Blaine Gabbert leads the Titans with 234 passing yards in completing 57.1% of his 42 pass attempts while Dion Lewis leads Tennessee with 117 yards and a touchdown on 30 carries. Corey Davis is Tennessee’s leading receiver with 11 catches for 117 yards while Wesley Woodyard leads the Tennessee defence with 12 tackles. Jurrell Casey and Kamalei Correa each have a pair of sacks this season. As a team, Tennessee is averaging 309.5 yards of total offense and 20 points per game this season.
The Jacksonville Jaguars will look to remain perfect after starting the year 2-0 thanks to a 31-20 win over New England in their last outing. Blake Bortles has thrown for 552 yards, 5 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in completing 60.3% of his 78 pass attempts while T.J. Yeldon has rushed for a team-high 109 yards on 24 carries through the first two games. Keelan Cole has caught a team-hight 10 passes for 170 yards, while Dede Westbrook has 133 receiving yards. Myles Jack leads a Jaguars’ D with 14 tackles and an interception as part of a unit that is top-10 in the league in total yardage, passing yardage and points against, allowing 313 yards per game (7th), 215 passing yards per game (9th) and 17.5 points per game (5th). The Jaguars are averaging 392.5 yards of total offense and 120.5 rushing yards in addition to 25.5 points per game this season.
Tennessee is 9-22 ATS in their last 31 road games and 16-40-4 ATS in their last 60 games against the AFC while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 division matchups. Jacksonville is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games while the over is 6-2 in their last 8 games following a win. Tennessee is 1-5-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings between these two teams in Jacksonville.
Tennessee getting the win with Gabbert under centre is a nice story, but how am I supposed to take points with the Titans given how the Jags’ D just shut down one of the best quarterbacks of all-time in Tom Brady last time out. Granted, Brady was missing his top receiver in Edelman, but having Edelman back may not have even mattered. The Jaguars once again look like they’re for real and should take care of business here against the Titans., I’ll lay the touchdown here with Jacksonville.
