The Tampa Bay Bucs looked to stay undefeated as they welcome the Pittsburgh Steelers to town for Monday Night Football.
The Steelers look for their first victory of the season as they head into Tampa Bay to take on a Bucs side that has looked like a Super Bowl contender through two weeks and will be out for another strong effort from journeyman quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. Pittsburgh meanwhile tied their season opener against the Browns before losing last week at home against the Kansas City Chiefs and now they are approaching desperation mode as they can ill afford to fall to 0-2-1 in the competitive AFC North. Pittsburgh has also had to deal with hostility around Antonio Brown this week who was absent from the team facility on Monday after a Twitter fiasco with a former PR rep from the Steelers and his presence in the team’s offense remains to be seen in the coming weeks.
The Bucs meanwhile have looked impressive with wins over the Saints and Eagles and a ton of their success has come from the play of Ryan Fitzpatrick who is starting to look like the quarterback that earned a multi-million dollar pay check from the Bills a handful of seasons ago. Tampa needs to rectify their woes on the defensive side of the football though as their secondary is the second worst in the league and is allowing yards in bunches through the air, which is a tough situation to be in against a team like the Steelers who have a ton of weapons in the passing game and will be playing with a chip on their shoulder.
The Steelers are 11-3 in their last 14 games ATS after allowing more than 30 points in their previous game and are 1-5 in their last six ATS in September while the Bucs are 4-0 ATS in their last four games on grass and are 0-5 ATS in their last five games during Week 3. Pittsburgh needs to win this game and with the line being so small I am taking them outright to win and get the cover with the potential of doing a reverse spread play.
