The Oakland Raiders look to stop the bleeding on Sunday as they welcome the Los Angeles Chargers to town in an AFC West division show down.
The Chargers look to extend the misery of their bitter rivals as they head into the Black Hole looking to make a statement in pursuit of a playoff spot in the AFC and they have a cupcake matchup here against the woeful Raiders. Los Angeles and Oakland have never been kind to each other as Chargers fans would love to leave the Coliseum with a smile on their face and with the dynamic weapons they have on offense led by Melvin Gordon there is a strong probability this will be another tough weekend in the Bay Area. Los Angeles is 3-1 on the road so far this season and they have earned close to 3-points so far in this line as they opened as a 7.5-point favourite and the line is now at 10 which is a huge concern for the Raiders who are at home in this spot.
Oakland has had a miserable first season under Jon Gruden as they have sent the likes of Khalil Mack, Marquette King, Amari Cooper, and now Bruce Irvin packing as they are officially in tank mode heading into the offseason. The Raiders have accumulated some great draft picks and will likely land some coveted pieces but for now it is a tough time to be a fan of the Silver and Black as they are downright awful to watch and were torched last week to the San Francisco offense. Oakland has failed to cover in 5 of their last 6 meetings with the Chargers and with playoff implications at stake expect Phillip Rivers and company to have razor sharp focus in this one.
The Chargers are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 November games and 17-8-1 ATS in their last 26 road games while Oakland is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games on grass. The Chargers are favoured by double digits on the road in a divisional game and while that seems absurd just remember how they were decimated against the Niners and this is a much tougher offense to contend with. Chargers win by at least two touchdowns.
