The New York Giants and the San Francisco 49ers will clash on the NFL’s “Monday Night Football in action from Levi’s Stadium.
The Giants are sitting at 1-7 on the season. New York’s lone win came against the Texans in Week 3, and otherwise they’ve dropped to the Jags, Cowboys, Saints, Panthers, Eagles, Falcons and Redskins.
In the Redskins game, New York QB Eli Manning put up 316 yards with one TD and two picks, and Saquon Barkley logged 38 yards to lead the rush. Odell Beckham had a big day, leading the Giants receivers on eight catches for 136 yards.
Over on the 49ers side, they’re currently 2-7 this year. Aside from wins over the Lions and Raiders this year, San Fran has fallen to the Vikings, Chiefs, Chargers, Cardinals, Packers, Rams and Cardinals again.
In the Raiders game, Niners QB Nick Mullens put up 262 yards and three TDs, and Raheem Mostert logged 86 yards to lead the rush. George Kittle managed to lead the receivers for San Fran with 108 yards and a TD on four receptions.
The Giants are 7-2 ATS in their last nine following an ATS loss and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 versus the NFC. New York is 3-11 in their last 14 in Week 10 and 1-4 ATS in their last five following a bye week.
Meanwhile, the Niners are 26-6 ATS in their last 32 Monday games and 5-14 ATS in their last 19 home games. San Francisco is also 2-6 ATS in their last eight games following an ATS win and 1-5 ATS in their last six versus the NFC.
There’s not much intrigue here no matter how you look at it. Both these teams are just playing out their schedules at this point and shining up their golf clubs for the offseason.
Looking at the big picture however, the Giants simply have more talent on their roster than the 49ers do right now. I expect the skill players to step up on the Monday night stage and bang out a cover here. I’ll take New York.
