The New England Patriots and New York Jets meet Sunday in NFL action at the MetLife Stadium.

The New England Patriots are coming off a bye week and look for their eighth win to stay in the race for a top seed in the AFC. The New England Patriots have lost three of their last five road games. Tom Brady is completing 65.2 percent of his passes for 2,748 yards, 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Brady has two or more touchdown passes in seven of his last 12 games. James White and Josh Gordon have combined for 1,039 receiving yards and eight touchdowns while Rob Gronkowski has 29 receptions. The New England Patriots ground game is averaging 108.5 yards per contest, and Sony Michel leads the way with 453 yards and four touchdowns. Defensively, New England is allowing 23.6 points and 381.4 yards per game. Kyle Van Noy leads the New England Patriots with 66 tackles, Deatrich Wise Jr. has 3.5 sacks and Jonathan Jones has two interceptions.

The New York Jets have also had an extra week to prepare and hope to snap a four-game losing streak. The New York Jets have lost three of their last five home games. Sam Darnold is completing 55 percent of his passes for 1,934 yards, 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Darnold has two or more touchdown passes in three of his 10 career games. Robby Anderson and Quincy Enunwa have combined for 691 receiving yards and four touchdowns while Chris Herndon has 19 receptions. The New York Jets ground game is averaging 107.3 yards per contest, and Isaiah Crowell leads the way with 552 yards and six touchdowns. The Patriots are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. AFC East, 16-6 ATS in their last 22 road games and 35-16 ATS in their last 51 games overall. The Jets are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 home games, 2-6 ATS in their last 8 vs. AFC and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Patriots are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 meetings in New York and 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 meetings. The over is 5-2 in Jets last 7 games overall.

The New England Patriots needed that week off to get some guys back from injury and to simply clear their heads after what has been an up and down season. The New York Jets have scored no more than 17 points in seven of their last nine games and had an extra week to get Josh McCown up to speed with the first team offense. The New England Patriots have covered each of their last five games when a double-digit favorite. The New York Jets are 4-4-1 ATS in their last nine games when a double-digit underdog. I'm not trying to lay double-digit chalk with the Pats given the way they've struggled all year, but I'm not taking the Jets at any number. The Patriots have been money when a double-digit favorite, and they're getting Gronkowski back in the offense. If forced to pick, the Patriots probably win this in a blowout.
