The Cleveland Browns and the Pittsburgh Steelers meet in an AFC North division matchup in a Madden 20 simulation game on Tuesday afternoon.
The Cleveland Browns come into this game with a 2-0 sim record after picking up a 48-13 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in their last outing. Nick Chubb leads the Browns’ offense with a 92 overall grade, with 92 speed, 91 acceleration and 85 strength which is a solid number for a running back. Odell Beckham Jr. is the top wideout for the Browns, rated 90 overall with a 99 rating in spectacular catch as well as 91 in catching in traffic and a 98 grade in ball carrier vision. Beckham Jr. also posts 94 ratings in speed and acceleration and a 98 agility rating. Kareem Hunt isn’t far behind at 88 overall at running back, with 90 speed and 92 acceleration and agility along with a 98 carrying rating. Baker Mayfield comes in under center at 76 overall with 93 throwing power, 87 short pass accuracy and 85 long ball accuracy. Defensively, Myles Garrett is the guy with a team-high 93 overall rating at right defensive end, with 85 speed, 90 acceleration, 96 strength as well as a 95 power move attribute rating. Dude’s a beast to say the least.
The Pittsburgh Steelers come in at 2-2 in sim games so far after a 34-17 win over the Baltimore Ravens last time out. JuJu Smith-Schuster is the top offensive skill player for the Steelers with an 86 overall rating, with 90 catching and 93 catching in traffic as well as 91 speed and 92 acceleration. James Conner comes in at running back with an 81 overall rating, 86 speed, 89 acceleration and 89 carrying while Ben Roethlisberger is back under center at 81 overall with 89 throwing power and 89 short pass accuracy. Defensively, Cameron Heyward is the top guy at 90 overall with 93 strength, 91 tackling and 92 power move while Stephon Tuitt is on the other side at 87 overall with 90 block shedding and 91 strength.
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t surprised that the Browns were much worse in reality than many expected them to be with all of the talent on the roster, and seeing them favored on the road against Pittsburgh seems downright insane. However, the Browns in Madden and in these simulated games are playing like the team we expected to see all along as the ratings represent how good some of these guys are, and in the sims, there aren’t chemistry issues and guys calling other guys on the team cancers and other things of that nature. Ben Roethlisberger’s owned the Browns in his career, but the sim doesn’t care about those numbers. Side by side, I think the Browns have the more talented team, so I’ll lay the points on the road with Cleveland here.
