The Los Angeles Chargers and the Indianapolis Colts meet in a Madden 20 NFL simulation game on Sunday night.
The Los Angeles Chargers will look to build on a 33-32 win over the New England Patriots from their last outing. Keenan Allen leads the Bolts at 92 overall with 90 catching and 94 catching in traffic to go along with 89 speed, 92 acceleration and 92 agility. Hunter Henry is L.A.’s top tight end at 87 overall with 89 catching as well. Neither Melvin Gordon III and Philip Rivers are with the Chargers in real life anymore, but they’re on the team here at 84 overall with Gordon rated at 92 speed and 92 agility with 90 carrying and 90 juke while Rivers has 94 short pass accuracy and 92 medium pass accuracy. Defense is where the Chargers are keeping their top-rated players with Joey Bosa leading the pass rush at 91 overall with 90 impact blocking as well as 97 finesse move and 87 strength while Casey Hayward Jr. is at 91 overall in the secondary with 91 acceleration and 92 agility in addition to 89 speed and 90+ ratings in man coverage and zone coverage. Melvin Ingram III and Derwin James Jr. each come in at 88 overall on the defensive end for the Chargers.
The Indianapolis Colts will look to rebound from a 49-28 loss to the New Orleans Saints in their last outing. T.Y. Hilton is the offensive leader for Indianapolis with an 88 overall rating, with 93 speed as well as 95 agility and 91 acceleration. The Colts also have some solid muscle up front with four offensive linemen with at least an 80 overall rating, including Quenton Nelson who has a team-high 94 overall rating with a 99 awareness rating as well as 97 strength and 92 run blocking. On defense, Justin Houston leads the group at 86 overall, including a 93 mark in play recognition while Darius Leonard posts up one of the outside linebacker spots with an 85 overall rating including an 88 grade in tackling.
The Colts had a couple of solid outings before the Saints debacle, so getting them in a pick ‘em is worth a look. However, the Chargers have been pretty impressive in these sim games, boasting a 4-1 record after that win over the Patriots and the Chargers already have a win over the Colts already in the sim matchups from a few weeks ago. I just think the Chargers are the team in a better position right now, so I’ll side with the Chargers to get the job done here.
