The Line: San Francisco 49ers -1.5 -- O/U: 55.5
The Green Bay Packers and the San Francisco 49ers meet in a Madden 20 NFL simulation game on Sunday afternoon.
The Green Bay Packers will look to build on three straight sim victories after a 38-17 win over the Detroit Lions in their last outing. Davante Adams leads the Pack on offense at 94 overall, with 94 catching and 94 catching in traffic while also owning 89 speed and 92 acceleration. Aaron Rodgers remains at starting QB with an 89 overall rating, with 94 throwing power, 90 short pass accuracy and ratings in the high-80s in medium and deep pass accuracy. Aaron Jones leads the Green Bay rushing attack with an 87 overall attribute rating with 93 carrying, 92 juke, 91 speed and 93 acceleration. Defensively, Kenny Clark leads the Green Bay defense and pass rush at 90 overall with 95 strength with 92 block shedding and 89 power moves while Jaire Alexander is close by at 89 overall to lead the Packers’ secondary at corner, with 92 man coverage in addition to 93 ratings in speed and acceleration with 94 agility. Za’Darius Smith and Adrian Amos come in at 88 and 87 overall respectively as well as a pair of key pieces in a loaded Green Bay defense.
The San Francisco 49ers will look to build on five straight simulation wins after a 27-13 win over the Los Angeles Rams last time out. George Kittle leads San Francisco on offense as a 97 overall at tight end with 98 catching while Emmanuel Sanders comes in as the top wide receiver for the Niners at 89 overall with 94 catching, 92 acceleration and 93 agility. Jimmy Garoppolo is the 49ers’ starting pivot at 84 overall while Tevin Coleman is right behind at running back at 82 overall with 93 speed, 92 acceleration and 93 agility. On defense, Richard Sherman leads San Fran at 94 overall at corner, with 99 awareness as well as 98 jumping, 90 man coverage and 99 zone coverage. Nick Bosa leads the pass rush at 89 overall with 91 finesse move and 91 acceleration. The 49ers’ D also has four additional defenders with at least an 85 overall rating, including Arik Armstead, DeForest Buckner, Dee Ford and Fred Warner.
Both of these teams are solid and are coming in on fairly respectable winning runs, but the difference for me, even in a simulation, is that Green Bay has been beating fairly weak competition like the Lions (who just got their first sim win on Saturday) and the Giants (who are 1-8 SU in sim games since they’ve started). San Francisco beat the Raiders and Rams, but they also hung 54 on the Chiefs and 41 on Baltimore while holding the Ravens to just 10 points. I just think the 49ers are a force to be reckoned with in this edition of Madden, and they show why again here. I’ll lay the points with San Francisco in this one.
