The Line: Kansas City Chiefs -7.5 -- O/U: 58.5
The Los Angeles Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs meet in an AFC West division matchup in a Madden 20 NFL simulation game on Tuesday night.
The Los Angeles Chargers will look to avenge It’s only sim loss, sitting at 5-1 in simulation play after a 26-16 win over Indianapolis last time out. Keenan Allen leads Los Angeles at 92 overall with 90 catching and 94 catching in traffic in addition to 89 speed, 92 acceleration and 92 agility. Hunter Henry is L.A.’s top tight end at 87 overall with 89 catching as well. Melvin Gordon III and Philip Rivers are no longer with the Chargers in real life anymore, but they’re on the team here at 84 overall with Gordon rated at 92 speed and 92 agility with 90 carrying and 90 juke while Rivers has 94 short pass accuracy and 92 medium pass accuracy. On defense is where the Chargers are stashing their top-rated players with Joey Bosa leading the pass rush at 91 overall with 90 impact blocking as well as 97 finesse move and 87 strength while Casey Hayward Jr. is at 91 overall in the secondary with 91 acceleration and 92 agility in addition to 89 speed and 90+ ratings in man coverage and zone coverage. Melvin Ingram III and Derwin James Jr. each come in at 88 overall on the defensive end for the Chargers.
The Kansas City Chiefs will try to rebound from back-to-back sim losses after a 41-38 defeat at the hands of the Houston Texans in their last outing. Patrick Mahomes comes in as one of the game’s five 99 overall rated players, with 96 throwing power as well as 97 short pass accuracy, 95 medium pass accuracy and 93 deep pass accuracy. Tyreek Hill is within range at the top of the group at 96 overall, with a 91 attribute rating in catching as well as 97 juke, 99 speed, 99 acceleration and 98 agility. Travis Kelce is also at 96 overall as KC’s top tight end with attributes of 99 awareness, 85 speed. 91 catching in traffic and 91 catching overall. On defense, Chris Jones and Tyrann Mathieu share the team-high on the Chiefs defense with Jones leading the pass rush at 92 overall with 91 strength, 90 tackling, 89 finesse move and 95 power move while Mathieu anchors KC’s secondary at 92 overall with a 90 man coverage rating as well as 89 in zone coverage while also being rated at 90 speed, and 92 in acceleration and 92 agility.
It seems easy to lay points with the Chiefs given that KC just beat the Chargers 59-30 just a few days ago. However, the Chiefs have still been giving up points left and right, and they gave up 54 to the 49ers in the Super Bowl rematch sim, and just allowed 41 to the Texans in their last game. The Chargers have played well outside of the Chiefs game in these sim games, and I think they’ve earned the benefit of the doubt to be given a chance here with the points, so I’ll take my free touchdown and the hook with the Chargers. This game seems fit to be a high scoring one as well, I could easily see it being 38-34 or 38-35, so I’ll side with the over as well.
