The Philadelphia Eagles and the New Orleans Saints meet in a Madden 20 NFL simulation game on Tuesday night.
The Philadelphia Eagles will be out to snap a three-game sim losing streak after a 40-37 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in their last game. Zach Ertz is the top dog on the Eagles’ offense, rated 90 overall with 87 acceleration and 93 catching while Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson make up the Eagles’ top pair of wide receivers at 85 and 84 overall respectively. Carson Wentz is starting at quarterback for Philadelphia at 83 overall while the Eagles’ best sit on the right side of their offensive line with Jason Kelce at center with a 94 overall rating, Brandon Brooks at 93 overall at right guard and right tackle Lane Johnson at 89 overall. On defense, Fletcher Cox leads Philadelphia’s front seven at 95 overall with 95 strength, 93 tackling and 96 power move while Brandon Graham is right defensive end at 87 overall with 90 power move and 93 impact blocking. Malcolm Jenkins leads the Eagles’ secondary at 86 overall with 91 acceleration, 90 agility and 88 zone coverage.
The New Orleans Saints will look to build on their 49-28 win over the Indianapolis Colts last time out. Michael Thomas comes in as one of the five 99 overall rated players in the game, along with 89 speed, 92 acceleration and 92 agility as well as 99 catching, 98 catching in traffic and 97 spectacular catch with 96 release and 93 jumping. Drew Brees starts at QB for New Orleans at 94 overall with 99 short pass accuracy, 97 medium pass accuracy and 91 deep ball accuracy. Alvin Kamara leads the Saints’ backfield with an 89 overall rating, including 94 acceleration, 93 agility, 90 carrying and 90 juke while Jared Cook is at 87 overall with 90 acceleration and 85 catching. On defense, Cameron Jordan leads the Saints’ pass rush at 92 overall with 92 impact blocking, 89 tackling and 94 finesse move. Demario Davis is at 89 overall at outside linebacker with 90 play recognition and 90 pursuit as well as 86 speed and 89 acceleration. Marcus Williams and Marshon Lattimore also make up a huge part of the New Orleans secondary at 86 and 85 overall.
Normally with these sim games, I’m not trying to read into who beat who as it’s not a good indicator of things in reality. However, the Eagles lost to the Vikings, a Vikings team that’s been pretty good and a Vikings team that I’m kind of high on in the game, while the Saints beat these same Vikings by 21 points not too long ago either. We saw signs of what the Saints bring to the table against Indianapolis where New Orleans rallied with 32 points in the 2nd half, and I just think the Saints are the better offensive team and are playing like the team that had all these high offensive marks in the game. I think the Saints win this one by at least a touchdown, so I’ll lay the points with New Orleans here.
