The Green Bay Packers and the New England Patriots meet in a Madden 20 NFL simulation game on Saturday night.
The Green Bay Packers will look to build on their 5th straight sim win coming after a 26-16 win over Cleveland last time out. Davante Adams leads Green Bay on the offensive side of the ball at 94 overall, with 94 catching and 94 catching in traffic while also possessing 89 speed and 92 acceleration. Aaron Rodgers remains at starting QB with an 89 overall rating, with 94 throwing power, 90 short pass accuracy and ratings in the high-80s in medium and deep pass accuracy. Aaron Jones leads the Green Bay rushing attack with an 87 overall attribute rating with 93 carrying, 92 juke, 91 speed and 93 acceleration. On defense, Kenny Clark leads the Green Bay defense on the pass rush at 90 overall with 95 strength with 92 block shedding and 89 power moves while Jaire Alexander is close behind at 89 overall to lead the Packers’ secondary at corner, with 92 man coverage in addition to 93 ratings in speed and acceleration with 94 agility. Za’Darius Smith and Adrian Amos come in at 88 and 87 overall respectively as well as a pair of key pieces in a loaded Green Bay defense.
The New England Patriots will look to build on back-to-back sim wins after a 31-10 win over the New York Jets in their last game. Tom Brady leads the Patriot offense at QB with a 91 overall rating with 90 throw power and 96 short pass accuracy while Julian Edelman is the top receiver in the New England offense at 87 overall with 91 acceleration, 91 agility and 85 catching. James White leads the Patriots’ running back group at 83 overall with 89 speed, 92 acceleration and 90 agility. On D, Stephon Gilmore leads New England with a 98 overall rating with 99 awareness and 92 speed with 94 acceleration and 94 agility while also rated at 98 in man coverage and 96 in zone coverage. Devin McCourty is New England’s second-highest rated DB at 92 overall with 93 zone coverage and 90 marks across the board in speed, agility and acceleration. Dont’a Hightower leads New England’s linebacking corps at 88 overall with 91 impact blocking and 92 tackling as well as 93 play recognition and 93 pursuit.
This is a replay of a game that had a roster glitch on Thursday, so we're replaying it here, but my original pick from that game was Green Bay, and I'm not wavering. I do like the Patriots and I'll like them more often than not in these sim games, but we're getting points with a Packer team that's done nothing but rattle off wins in the simulator as of late. I just think that Green Bay getting points in this spot looks like some solid value, especially since New England continues to have shaky moments on defense.
