The Line: Tampa Bay Buccaneers PK -- O/U: 57
The Cleveland Browns and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers meet in a Madden 20 NFL simulation game on Saturday afternoon.
The Cleveland Browns will look to rebound from a 26-16 loss to the Green Bay Packers in their last sim game. Nick Chubb leads the Browns on offense with a 92 overall attribute rating, with 92 speed, 91 acceleration and 85 strength grades. Odell Beckham Jr. is the top receiver for Cleveland, rated at 90 overall with a 99 rated spectacular catch as well as 91 in catching in traffic and a 98 mark in ball carrier vision while also having 94 ratings in speed and acceleration and 98 agility. Kareem Hunt comes in at 88 overall at running back, with 90 speed and 92 acceleration and 92 agility along with a 98 carrying rating. Baker Mayfield comes in at 76 overall starting at quarterback, including 93 throwing power, 87 short pass accuracy and 85 long ball accuracy. On defense, Myles Garrett is the leader with a team-high 93 overall rating at defensive end, with 85 speed, 90 acceleration and 96 strength as well as a 95 power move rating.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will look to build on their four-game sim winning streak after a 43-38 win over Carolina last time out. Mike Evans and Chris Godwin lead Tampa Bay’s offense and the receiving group with Evans owning a team-high 92 overall rating with 90 catching, 95 catching in traffic and 97 spectacular catch while Godwin is 87 overall with 97 catching. Jameis Winston comes in at 78 overall under center for Tampa Bay in this year’s Madden. On defense, Lavonte David is Tampa Bay’s leading linebacker with a 90 overall rating, with 92 pursuit, 87 block shedding, 88 impact blocking and 89 tackling. Ndamukong Suh is up front at 86 overall with 93 impact blocking and Vita Vea is right behind alongside at 85 overall with 91 impact blocking.
Common sense for me would say the Browns have the better team in terms of rated players on their team, so in a pick ‘em, Cleveland should be the play. However, the Buccaneers have quietly rattled off four straight sim wins, and I know these games are a coin flip and momentum doesn’t exist, but we’re seeing enough of a sample size that says the Bucs aren’t just a write off in this game. Cleveland’s high-rated players also haven’t helped the cause as the Browns have scored 19 points or less in each of their last four games. I’ll side with Tampa Bay in this pick ‘em scenario.
