The Line: san Francisco 49ers -6.5 -- O/U: 55
The San Francisco 49ers and the Indianapolis Colts meet in a Madden 20 NFL simulation game on Tuesday afternoon.
The San Francisco 49ers will look to build off of a 27-26 win over Buffalo last time out. George Kittle leads the offense for San Fran as a 97 overall rated tight end with 98 catching while Emmanuel Sanders comes in as the top wide receiver for the Niners at 89 overall with 94 catching, 92 acceleration and 93 agility. Jimmy Garoppolo is the 49ers’ starting QB at 84 overall while Tevin Coleman is right behind at running back at 82 overall with 93 speed, 92 acceleration and 93 agility. On D, Richard Sherman leads San Fran at 94 overall at corner, with 99 awareness as well as 98 jumping, 90 man coverage and 99 zone coverage. Nick Bosa leads the 49er pass rush at 89 overall with 91 finesse move and 91 acceleration. The 49ers’ D also has four additional defenders with at least an 85 overall rating, including Arik Armstead, DeForest Buckner, Dee Ford and Fred Warner.
The Indianapolis Colts will look to keep the positive results coming after back-to-back sim wins after a 29-24 win over Green Bay last time out. T.Y. Hilton leads the Indianapolis offense with an 88 overall rating, with 93 speed as well as 95 agility and 91 acceleration. The Colts also have some solid beef up front with four offensive linemen with at least an 80 overall rating, led by Quenton Nelson who has a team-high 94 overall rating with a 99 awareness rating as well as 97 strength and 92 run blocking. On the defensive side, Justin Houston leads the Colts at 86 overall, including a 93 mark in play recognition while Darius Leonard sits at one of the outside linebacker spots with an 85 overall rating including an 88 rating in tackling.
The Colts have picked up back-to-back upset wins, but these games don’t really take momentum into consideration, and while back-to-back wins over Houston and Green Bay would’ve been huge for Indy in reality, the fact here is that the Colts just caught the better simulation result that game. These games are coin flips and anything can happen, but we’ve had enough of a positive sample size from the Niners that says they’re worth backing against the lesser teams. I’ll lay the points with San Francisco here.
