The Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans meet Friday afternoon in a Madden20 simulation game.
The Houston Texans have one of the best difference makers on both sides of the ball in wide receiver Deandre Hopkins (98 overall) and defensive end JJ Watt (97 overall). Both of those guys can takeover a game even in the virtual world and their awareness of 99 overall makes them reliable in games like this with the computer leading the way. The Texans also have a solid left tackle in Laremy Tunsil who is an 87 overall rating and a 91 awareness rating. Quarterback wise, the Texans have Deshaun Watson who has a 86 overall rating and an 88 acceleration rating, so he can kill defenses with his arm or legs. The x-factor for the Texans is wide receiver Will Fuller, who has a 95 speed rating and 93 acceleration rating, giving him the ability to take the top off a defense. Bottom line, the Texans are one of the more underrated teams in Madden20.
The Tennessee Titans have four players ranked 86 overall or better in safety Kevin Byard, running back Derrick Henry, cornerback Logan Ryan and tight end Delanie Walker. Just like in real life, the Titans are a physical team in the trenches and rely on a power running game behind the highly rated offensive linemen Rodger Saffold and Taylor Lewan. If the opposing defense doesn’t have a strong front seven, the Titans are going to control the clock and run the ball to victory. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill comes in at 80 rating overall and is a solid 81 speed rating and 86 acceleration rating, so he can make plays with his legs and give the defense something else to think about. The Tennessee Titans may not be the sexiest team in Madden, but they have an identity and are extremely good at the style they bring to the field.
The Houston Texans are one of my favorite teams to play with and a team I like to back often in these simulations. However, the Texans are soft in the trenches and can get bullied at times, and they're going up against a physical Titans squad that has a monster in the backfield in Derrick Henry. This feels like a complete mismatch and a game where the Titans can pound their way to success.
Give me the Titans at home in this pick em contest.
