The Los Angeles Chargers and the Philadelphia Eagles meet in a Madden 20 NFL simulation game on Saturday afternoon.
The Los Angeles Chargers will look to build on a 37-31 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Friday night. Keenan Allen leads Los Angeles at 92 overall with 90 catching and 94 catching in traffic in addition to 89 speed, 92 acceleration and 92 agility while Hunter Henry is the Chargers’ top tight end at 87 overall with 89 catching as well. Melvin Gordon III and Philip Rivers aren’t on the Chargers in reality anymore, but they’re still there in the game at 84 overall with Gordon rated at 92 speed and 92 agility with 90 carrying and 90 juke while Rivers has 94 short pass accuracy and 92 medium pass accuracy. On D is where the Chargers have their top-rated players with Joey Bosa leading the pass rush at 91 overall with 90 impact blocking as well as 97 finesse move and 87 strength while Casey Hayward Jr. is at 91 overall in the secondary with 91 acceleration and 92 agility in addition to 89 speed and 90+ ratings in man coverage and zone coverage. Melvin Ingram III and Derwin James Jr. each come in at 88 overall on the defensive end for the Chargers.
The Philadelphia Eagles will try to bounce back from a 40-34 loss to Pittsburgh in their last game. Zach Ertz leads Philadelphia’s offense, rated 90 overall with 87 acceleration and 93 catching while Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson make up the Eagles’ top receiver pairing at 85 and 84 overall respectively. Carson Wentz is starting at quarterback for Philadelphia at 83 overall while the Eagles top guys are on the right side of their offensive line with Jason Kelce at center with a 94 overall rating, Brandon Brooks at 93 overall at right guard and right tackle Lane Johnson at 89 overall. On defense, Fletcher Cox leads Philadelphia at 95 overall with 95 strength, 93 tackling and 96 power move while Brandon Graham is right defensive end at 87 overall with 90 power move and 93 impact blocking. Malcolm Jenkins leads the Eagles’ secondary at 86 overall with 91 acceleration, 90 agility and 88 zone coverage.
I say these sim games are a coin flip and I can’t stress that enough, and this game is the definition of that, so maybe the wise thing would be to take the points, especially with how high I’ve been on the Chargers, especially as a dog. However, Philadelphia’s shown that they can hang offensively in their own right and this seems like a low total for a pair of teams that can hit 30+ points more often than not. Give me the over here.
