The Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals meet Thursday afternoon in a Madden20 simulation game.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of those teams that controls the trenches, as their top-four ranked players (David DeCastro, Cameron Heyward, Stephon Tuitt and Maurkice Pountey) are on the offensive or defensive line. The Steelers are also loaded with highly ranked players on the defensive side and that’s where they’re going to butter their bread in these simulations. The highest ranked skill position player for the Steelers is wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, who is rated 86 overall with a 91 speed rating and 92 acceleration rating. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is ranked 81 overall and has a strength rating of 82, so he’s tough to bring down even if the defense gets to him. The Pittsburgh Steelers are a physical bunch with an effective defense and are a strong team to play with in this version of Madden.
The Cincinnati Bengals have three players ranked 87 overall or higher in wide receiver AJ Green, defensive tackle Geno Atkins and running back joe Mixon. Throw in wide receiver Tyler Boyd who is an 83 overall and has a 92 acceleration rating, and the Bengals are a losing team in real life that actually is intriguing in the video game world. The obvious issue with the Bengals is quarterback Andy Dalton, who is 72 overall, and has a 73 awareness rating and a 75 speed rating. The Cincinnati Bengals have talent and are a surprisingly poor team you can win with in this game. However, in a computer simulation, you have to worry about Dalton and the questionable decisions he’s going to make with a low awareness rating.
The Cincinnati Bengals aren't as bad in video game form as they were in the real life 2019 season and you can win with them playing online, but they don't have the depth you need to win these simulations. The Bengals aren't great defensively and even with a healthy AJ Green at wide receiver, the offensive production is often like pulling teeth. The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of the more balanced teams in this game and have an aggressive defense that makes game changing plays.
I'll take the Steelers by a touchdown and grab this line before it jumps a half a point.
