The Los Angeles Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs meet in a Madden 20 NFL Sim Classic matchup on Monday night.
The Los Angeles Chargers come into this one with a sim record of 7-4 after a 37-31 loss to the Steelers in their last game. JuJu Smith-Schuster leads Pittsburgh’s offense at wide receiver with an 86 overall rating, which includes a rating of 91 speed and 92 acceleration as well as 90 catching and 93 catching in traffic while James Conner starts at running back with an 81 overall rating with 86 speed, 89 acceleration and 89 carrying. Ben Roethlisberger is starting quarterback with an 81 overall rating with 89 throwing power and 89 short passing accuracy. On defense, Cameron Heyward leads the Steelers at 90 overall with 93 strength, 91 tackling and 92 power move while Stephon Tuitt is on the other side of the front at 87 overall with 90 block shedding and 91 strength.
The Kansas City Chiefs come into this one with a sim record of 7-8 after a 26-20 win over Atlanta in their last game. Julio Jones leads the Falcons on offense with a 97 overall rating, with 92 speed and 94 agility to go along with 96 catching, 95 catching in traffic and 98 spectacular catch. Austin Hooper’s rated 89 overall at tight end with 97 catching while Matt Ryan comes in at 87 overall at starting QB and Devonta Freeman leads the Falcons’ ground attack with an 85 overall rating with 92 speed and 94 agility. On defense, Grady Jarrett leads Atlanta rated 90 overall with 89 strength, 90 block shedding and 93 power move while Deion Jones is the Falcons’ top linebacker at 86 overall with 89 pursuit, 90 speed and 91 acceleration. Keanu Neal and Desmond Trufant lead the Falcons’ secondary at 85 and 84 overall respectively with Trufant logging 92 speed, 93 acceleration and 96 agility.
The defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs are solid ratings-wise, but we’ve seen KC get torched often in these sim games and giving up 40+ points regularly isn’t out of the question for the Chiefs either. The Chargers aren’t loaded, but they’ve hung with the Chiefs in one meeting and beat up on KC in another by 20+ points. I just think there’s too much value to pass on with L.A., so I’ll take the Chargers and the points as well as put a bit on the Chargers moneyline.
