The Line: New York Giants +10.5 -- Over/Under: 44.5
The New Orleans Saints and New York Giants meet Saturday afternoon in a Madden20 simulation game.
The New Orleans Saints have five players ranked 91 or better overall in quarterback Drew Brees, wide receiver Michael Thomas, defensive end Cameron Jordan and offensive linemen Ryan Ramczyk and Terron Armstead. As if a solid offensive line and game changers at quarterback and wide receiver wasn’t enough, the Saints also have an 89 overall at running back in Alvin Kamara who also has a 94 acceleration rating. The Saints are able to flip a game quickly and with Brees having a 98 awareness rating, he’s not going to be fooled by the defense often. The Saints also have one of the faster secondary’s in the game with Justin Hardee, Marshon Lattimore and Eli Apple all having speed and acceleration above 90 ratings, so you’re confident they won’t get beat deep often. The New Orleans Saints are easily one of the best teams to play with in Madden 20.
The New York Giants are heavy offensive team with their top-five ranked players being on that side of the ball starting with running back Saquon Barkley who is a 89 overall with a 92 speed rating. Tight end Evan Engram is an 88 overall with an 88 awareness rating, while wide receiver Golden Tate is an 83 overall rating and 96 agility rating. The concern with the Giants is quarterback Daniel Jones brings in a 70 overall rating with a 72 awareness rating and 84 speed rating. Defensively, defensive end Leonard Williams is the highest rated player at 82 overall and defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson is 80 overall with an 88 strength rating. The New York Giants are light on game changing talent, but you can win with this team if you know how to control the offensive line and mix up a power running game.
The New Orleans Saints are one of my favorite teams in this game and arguably the most balanced team that's more than capable of pouring it on, even in a simulation. Still, I don't like laying big chalk in these simulations, as you're counting on the computer to play a near flawless game and that doesn't happen a whole lot. We've seen many double-digit underdogs win outright and we see boneheaded plays happen constantly.
While a Saints blowout wouldn't be shocking, I feel safer with a boatload of free points in my pocket.
