The Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers meet in a Madden 20 NFL Sim Classic matchup on Sunday night.

The Minnesota Vikings will look to finish group play at a perfect 3-0 after a 22-12 win over Detroit in their last game. Stefon Diggs isn’t a Viking in real life anymore, but he’s still with the team in this game with a 93 overall rating with 92 catching, 91 speed, 93 acceleration and 93 agility. Adam Thielen has a 91 overall rating another wide receiver spot with 90 speed and 93 grades in acceleration and agility as well. Thielen also has 95 catching and 90 catching in traffic. Dalvin Cook leads the Vikings’ rushing attack at 90 overall with 91 speed, 92 acceleration and 94 agility while Kyle Rudolph is an 84 overall rated tight end and Kirk Cousins is 84 overall at starting QB. On the defensive end, Harrison Smith leads Minnesota at 95 overall with 93 power, 92 zone coverage, 95 play recognition and 93 pursuit. The Vikings have a group of 90 overall rated defenders, with Everson Griffen and Danielle Hunter sitting opposite on the D-line while Eric Kendricks hunkers down the linebacking corps. Linval Joseph also sits at 86 overall in the middle of the defensive line.

The Green Bay Packers will try to bounce back after a 34-28 overtime loss to Chicago in their last game. Davante Adams leads the Packers on the offensive at 94 overall, with 94 catching and 94 catching in traffic while also possessing 89 speed and 92 acceleration. Aaron Rodgers is the starter under center with an 89 overall rating, with 94 throwing power, 90 short pass accuracy and ratings in the high-80s in medium and deep pass accuracy while Aaron Jones leads Green Bay’s rushing attack with an 87 overall attribute rating with 93 carrying, 92 juke, 91 speed and 93 acceleration. On defense, Kenny Clark leads Green Bay’s pass rush at 90 overall with 95 strength with 92 block shedding and 89 power moves while Jaire Alexander is not far off at 89 overall to lead the Green Bay secondary at cornerback, with 92 man coverage in addition to 93 ratings in speed and acceleration with 94 agility. Za’Darius Smith and Adrian Amos come in at 88 and 87 overall respectively as well as a pair of key pieces in a stacked Green Bay defense.

I get that Green Bay needs a win here to improve their chances of making it to the next round, but these sims don’t take the Sim Classic standings into consideration when this goes down. For me, the fact is that we are getting points with the Vikings who have been one of the best and most consistent teams when it comes to positive results in these sim games. I’ll take a shot with Minnesota and the points in a game I think the Vikings win outright.

Chris’s Pick Minnesota +5 / Minnesota ML +155
