The Baltimore Ravens and the Indianapolis Colts meet in a Madden 20 NFL Sim Classic matchup on Wednesday afternoon.
The Baltimore Ravens come into this matchup with a Sim Classic record of 2-1 after a 38-27 loss to Pittsburgh in their last game. Lamar Jackson leads the Ravens’ offense at quarterback with a 92 overall rating, with 92 throw power and 92 short pass accuracy to go along with 96 speed, 96 acceleration and 95 agility. Mark Ingram II comes in at 86 overall as Baltimore’s top running back with 88 speed, 91 acceleration and 89 carrying while Mark Andrews is not far behind at tight end with an 85 overall rating. Defensively, Earl Thomas III leads the Ravens with a team-high 93 overall rating, including 92 jumping and 96 zone coverage at free safety and Michael Pierce is a solid 91 overall on the defensive line with 94 block shedding and 90 impact blocking while Marlon Humphrey and Marcus Peters put together a strong pair in the secondary at 89 and 85 overall for Baltimore. Humphrey possesses a 90 man coverage rating as well as 92 speed and 93 acceleration while Peters has 87 man coverage, 91 speed and 91 acceleration.
The Indianapolis Colts come into this game with their own 2-1 Sim Classic record after a 32-19 win over Jacksonville in their last game. T.Y. Hilton leads Indy on offense with an 88 overall rating, with 93 speed as well as 95 agility and 91 acceleration at wide receiver. The Colts also have some strength up front with four offensive linemen with at least an 80 overall rating, led by Quenton Nelson who has a team-high 94 overall rating with a 99 awareness rating as well as 97 strength and 92 run blocking. On the defensive end, Justin Houston leads Indianapolis at 86 overall, including a 93 mark in play recognition while Darius Leonard sits at one of the outside linebacker spots with an 85 overall rating including an 88 rating in tackling.
The Colts coming into the knockout rounds is a nice story from a sim perspective, but Baltimore is a step up from the teams that the Colts have played so far. I just think that the Ravens are the better team and have put away far better than what they face here in the Colts and I expect Lamar Jackson and that defense to hold their own here so I’ll lay the points with Baltimore in this spot.
