The New York Giants and the New York Jets meet in a Madden 20 NFL simulation game on Tuesday afternoon.
The New York Giants will try to bounce back from a 39-17 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers last time out. Saquon Barkley leads the G-Men on offense with an 89 overall rating, with 92 speed, 93 acceleration, 96 agility, 94 carrying and 94 juke grades. Evan Engram leads the Giants’ receiving group at tight end at 88 overall with 88 catching, 90 speed and 91 acceleration marks. Golden Tate III and Sterling Shepard make up a solid wide receiver pair with each logging 90 speed and 91 acceleration with Tate III having 89 catching compared to Shepard’s 88. On defense, Leonard Williams is the only 80+ overall player on that side of the ball for the Giants at 82 overall with 88 tackling and 88 impact blocking.
The New York Jets will try to build on a 35-12 win over the same Pittsburgh team from their last sim game. Le’Veon Bell leads the Jets on offense with an 88 overall rating, including 89 speed, 92 acceleration and 95 agility as well as 88 carrying and 91 juke. Robby Anderson leads the receivers at 84 overall with 91 catching while Sam Darnold is rated 74 overall as the Jets’ starting QB. Defensively, Jamal Adams leads the Jets with a 92 overall grade, with 95 power and 92 zone coverage as well as 91 speed and 90 acceleration. The Jets also possess a pair of 85 overall rated middle linebackers in C.J. Mosley and Avery Williamson, with both having 89 acceleration and Mosley having 91 tackling while Williamson has 86 block shedding.
This isn’t a game I’d run to the window to bet, in reality or even more so in a sim game. However, the Jets have simply been the more reliable team in these sim games and while they’ve been inconsistent at times, the one thing the Giants have done consistently here is get beat up on. I don’t like the Giants much in reality but the sample size has me liking them even less in these simulations. I’ll lay the points with the Jets here.
